3 Day Uluru Adventure (starts Uluru & ends Alice Springs)

Additional Information

This is a camping trip for those who are looking for a little more comfort. Simple facilities and lack of emphasis on creature comforts make this an authentic experience of the Australian outback. Each trip has an expert local leader, and plenty of free time for optional extras. We camp in shared permanent twin-share tents that feature cosy beds, wooden floors, full linen, lighting, power points, a bedside table and fans. Twin-share hostel/motel rooms are the go, with the option of a single supplement also available(supplement payable direct). If you’re travelling solo, you’ll be paired with someone of the same gender - unless you choose the solo upgrade. We travel in a range of private vehicles from 4WD trucks in the Top End, to comfortable overland vehicles through the Red Centre. The perfect option for a ‘no frills’ trip.

Depending on the tour/campground there will be a sheltered BBQ area for preparing meals and you must be prepared to assist with food preparation, dish washing, collecting firewood etc - plus helping keep the campsite clean and tidy for the next group of travellers. The interactive nature of these tours is a key component to getting more in touch with nature and the Australian culture – the more you put in the more you get out! These tours tend to appeal to active travellers who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Day 1: Yulara to Uluru (Ayers Rock)

This afternoon we set out to boulder-strewn landscape of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). After your stroll, we walk to the cave paintings near Mutitjulu Waterhole at the base of Uluru. You will be in the hands of an Anangu guide who will share the stories of this unique landscape and explain the Art, the Culture and connection to Land. This exclusive experience will give you an exclusive insight to the meaning behind Anangu art and traditional culture. The on-site Cultural Centre also houses an extensive collection of indigenous arts and crafts for you to browse. Tonight we spend the night in an exclusive campsite in Watarrka National Park.

Beginning in the vast natural Amphitheatre (where you’re free to test out the acoustics), we’ll enter upon the Lost City and descend down into the fern-shaded rock pools of the Garden of Eden.
