Learn of Sydney's historical past and diverse culture with full commentary along the way
Departing at around 8am (or earlier from your Sydney hotel) you will settle into your comfortable tour bus seat as you head out to experience the best of Sydney.
Stop at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. A great photo opportunity! Mrs. Macquarie's Chair is actually a sandstone platform with a hand-crafted bench hewn from it, carved by convicts in 1810. The name of this picturesque location as well as Mrs. Macquarie's Point was derived from the fact that the wife of the then NSW Governor favoured this spot for its spectacular views.
Discover the iconic Sydney Opera House on a guided behind the scenes walking tour and see, feel and touch the magic that happens from rare vantage points that are off limits to the general public.
Visit the world famous Bondi Beach, one of the most visited beaches in Australia. Stop here for a mid morning break and soak up the sun or take a walk along the beach. Sydney's Bondi beach isn't just a popular location, itt is an institution of the Aussie lifestyle! This bustling beach is one of the most famous beaches on the planet and it's not difficult to see why - the golden sand and cool, clear surf will enchant you almost immediately.
After the morning portion of your tour, you’ll have a two-hour lunch break (own expense) at Darling Harbour or you may opt to purchase a Captain Cook Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour (see Optional Add-on)
This afternoon, head East to La Perouse, a historical headland suburb where Captain Cook first landed in 1770. From this vantage point see Botany Bay and the protected beaches where the English and French naval ships arrived on the shores of this land. See the historical buildings and learn how the Aboriginal people were impacted.
Cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge and stop at Milsons Point for spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and city skyline. Located on the lower North Shore, Milsons Point is a scenic suburb and home to some of Sydney's most exclusive homes, schools, cafes, restaurants and boutique stores. Many of the buildings within Milsons Point have been historically preserved from as early as the 1800s, making the sweeping views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour even more interesting.
Return to The Rocks area and discover the birthplace of modern Australia on a guided walking tour. Wander the cobbled laneways and learn the rich history of the area from a British colony of convicts and sailors to a thriving entertainment precinct. Once home to the Indigenous Gadigal people, The Rocks was then claimed by the Europeans in 1788 and much of the original layout still remains. This vibrant spot is situated at the base of the Harbour Bridge and is full of world-class restaurants, historical pubs, boutique stores and art galleries. You will be able to explore this region and marvel at the historical buildings.
Once the tour concludes, choose to stay and enjoy the area or return to your hotel.
You also have the option of upgrading your tour with a Sydney Harbour luncheon cruise, featuring a scrumptious buffet lunch and commentary. After your cruise, you will be escorted to your coach tour.
